Bokeh is the art of out of focus photography. Here is a self portrait with bokeh in the background, which is Christmas lights that are out of focus.

On a cold winters day in the Grand Canyon with weather temps in the teens and wind blowing giving a wind chill of minus temperatures, a winter blanket of snow that had falling the night before with trees covered. The Grand Canyon a majestic scenery in the summertime, the winter with the snow is just so much more amazing, don’t ask me why? It seems to just jump out at you and with freezing temps and the cold air as you breathe in and out the steam as your breath goes out to the world you realize how cold it truly is, as the hair freezes in my mustache, trying not to shake as I set up the tripod to get this shot, trying to set the setting on the camera, I set the timer on the camera and viola “Grand Canyon on a winters day”A Panoramic photo and still you just cannot capture the majesty of the Grand Canyon as beautiful a picture is it just cannot capture the amazing beauty of one of our countries most valuable treasures.
I would only like to say, “Go See it” and then and only then you will know the the truly beauty of the “Grand Canyon”

This is my first Wedding that I was asked to do photography for the whole wedding, all my others were just there to take pictures without being hired for the job. Pleased with the outcome of the work that was produced in this wedding, posting of some of the beautiful photos of this Great couple………..Congratulations Andrew and Robin.

Monument Valley what a absolutely stunning place to visit with so many towering spires reaching for the sky in majestic formations of rock, sand and clay. These spires look as if they were cut with a knife in there formation.
On a perfect day, with the clouds and blue skies and as in this photo, The sunrise is such a awesome sight to start the day. Monument Valley is on the Navajo Indian Reservation, Where they will treat you as a guest in their homes. As you can see here there is so much to see, so take a few days and hike around or take a tour. Tours can be taken into the back country and see places that are restricted to the public and there is a host of tour companies there to take you to a whole new world of beauty you will not see anywhere else in the entire world. Go out and enjoy the magnificent world that God has placed for you to enjoy. At 1am in the morning with the night sky filled with billions of stars and light cloud cover and the moon rising in the east giving enough light to light up the sky and give enough light to shilohet West Mitten Butte.

While traveling to Taos in July come across a place where the sunset looked to be a good spot to get a beautiful sunset. But never realize how beautiful it was going to be………….Until the sky lit up with colors that burst into one of the most spectacular sunset color ever.
Taos is such a laid back town with people who seem to be in the 1970′s and never want to come forward to the current times.
The road coming into Taos is a very beautiful road with the Rio Grande that flows south out of the canyon and hills covered in desert shrubs, and people who raft down the river.

Sunsets in Arizona are never ending, it seems that almost every night the sky lights up with color and with all the Segauro Cactus all around it is easy to find beautiful sunsets. This day I found a bunch of cactus to get into the photo, with the color jumping out, almost like saying “Take My Picture” So had to ablige in the request.

Storms of Maricopa

Storms, They come and go in just a few minutes, as all the others this one was no different, The wind starts the dust flies the lightning starts and then the crack of thunder. This night the thunder was extremely loud, even waking the dead, with car alarms going off all around the city, with the windows rattling, I set out to capture this on camera. I am pleased with what was caught on it.

On a warm July night the storm starts with high winds and then the dust raises to the sky as the air fills with the brown of the dust, then the rain starts and wets the dust into mud as it falls back to the ground. The sky lights up with bright bolts of lightning across the sky, multiple bolts lighting the sky as if were daylight.
Loving the thunder and lightning in the sky going out to photography this amazing power of Mother Nature.

Drag Boats

Firebird Raceway in Chandler, Arizona for Drag Boat Races! But will give me the chance to see if I can take Sport photography with actions shots of Very high speed boats on water, traveling at speeds of 258 miles per hour, as you look at some of the photos, enjoy the hard work it took to learn how to take photos at such high speed, I would like to know if anyone who does this kind of photography could give me constructive criticism to help me become better photographer, I surely would appreciate it!

Lake Havasu City is so spectacular at night with the lights and the bridge in the light of the night the reflections in the water on a cool night of January 2011 at the Havasu Island Balloon Festival.
There for the balloons in the day time and wondering what to do after the sun went down, so I went for a drive and saw the lights from the road so I parked and walked around looking at all of the buildings and the partying that was going on at the bars around London Bridge and listening to the people laughing and having a good time with all their friends and me there alone as my wife was in San Jose with her kids and grandkids. Well like every thing in my life I come across a photo opportunity of a life time with this place and seeing the beauty of the night and me there with my camera to catch it!

Havasu Island Balloon Festival event, Here is Paul Smith’s “Sincerely” in the splash and dash where the pilots of the balloons lowers the basket of the balloon down and touches the water ever so softly and then hits the burners to raise back to the blues skies above, Here in this picture is “Sincerely” and “Cupid” in the background. Lake Havasu City is such a picturesque place to be able to shoot this kind of event, I would like to extent my thanks to the City of Lake Havasu City for having this event and wish them many years of success on the future events.

Splash and Dash at London Bridge

This year was the First Annual “Havasu Island Balloon Festival” in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. The crowds were larger then they had expected, the traffic to the event was smooth as they had buses running people from off site parking wear they were directing traffic to, they had lots of vendors there selling their wares, with a carnival for the kids and the kids at heart, with live entertainment in music and air show of Old bi-planes and ultra lites planes with vintage cars and dealers selling cars right there at the park.
Havasu Island Balloon Festival did a great job of bringing this event to the people of Lake Havasu City and they should be proud of a city with such beautiful surroundings and great people who live and work there, as they had hundreds of people that volunteered to help with putting on the event as they worked tirelessly to make sure that the event went off without a hitch.
Here in this picture is “Sincerely” and “Fleur De Tucson” with Fleur De Tucson touching down in the water north of London Bridge.
Lake Havasu City, thank you for putting on this event and for inviting me to take photos for this event.

This is my first real movie that I can say that I really love, It was a labor of Love and lot of research to find all the information about all the subjects in the photos but as you can see it was worth all of work. ENJOY!

London bridge panoramic is a photo of many put together to make one Panoramic
from the marina you can see the spectacular view of the Bridge at night is so amazing. It will literally take your breathe away. Havasu had it first annual Havasu Island Balloon Festival and with it came some photos really not expected to see. As in every event in life there is the things you are going to see and then there are the ones you just happen to come across, This is one of those times when it all took me by surprise.

In the 1970′s Arizona bought London Bridge from England and shipped it over brick by brick, numbering all the bricks so that it would be able to put it all back together in the same order. they built a water way in Lake Havasu to accommodate the bridge and with that they created a landmark of beauty and of use for the city of Lake Havasu, Arizona and as you can see it is a wonder of striking beauty.

Loving Look at Kim

Kim and Jeff a loving couple that have so much to give each other, from the kind words to the support each has giving to the other, when times get tough they seem to find common ground to a solution to any and all problems, Just like all married couples they have ups and downs, but have a way of just working through them ……………..TOGETHER!

Loving each other!

Traveling through New Mexico on my way to Carlsbad Caverns and looking at all the splendor of the world we have around us everyday and seeing the beauty of this great world. Laying in the middle of the road and taking a picture of the Guadalupe National Park peaks in the distance, I was enjoying the drive through the mountains, stopping to see the mountain in my mirrors and thinking “This would make a great picture” stopped and waited for the right moment to run out lay in the road and snap the picture.

Gettler Family

The Gettler Family is my daughter and granddaughter and grandson.
Julie (my daughter) as you can see is a very beautiful young woman, I might be a little prejudice with that statement.
But Rylee is my “Birthday Girl” as she was born on my birthday but as you see she is a beautiful and intelligent little lady, let me tell you about the newest grandson in Dreden, quite and yet has a smile that will melt even the coldest heart.
As always it is my pleasure to take photos of my beautiful family but it is so much more then just taking photos of family, I Love to see the smiles on the faces of the people who I am blessed to be able to take their photos.

Papago Park

On a day of reflection of my life, not really feeling all that good, set out to see if I would be able to find a day of good photos, knowing how beautiful Papago Park is, and knowing that my wife would love to get out of the house if only for a few hours. We headed up to Papago Park for some of feeding some ducks with all of our old bread, instead of throwing it away.
While Kim feed the ducks and fighting them off of herself, as they came closer and closer to her. Being busy with finding a few good shots as the sun sets and the light reflecting off the lake. With all the different views of the lake and the sunset with the slice of a moon in the sky. Fishermen and his son who are fishing for some catfish. A night out on the town with my beautiful wife and just having time to reflect on life, to sit on the park table and talk about just our lives together and what we would like to strive to achieve in our lives, just another great day with my best friend, my wife and the one I will spend the rest of my life with!

Desert Reflections

On a day of photography around the local area, with so many places to see within just a few miles. Arizona being a state of diversity and beauty from copper mines to The Grand Canyon and the red rocks of Sedona with all the splendor of the Colorado River on the western side of the state. Although every state has it own grander of scenery to visit right close to where you are. As here in Arizona there is so much to see. So weather you are out and about where you live or traveling to see the beauty of the rest of the states. America the Beautiful is the thought of the day, Go out and see it every chance you get. May God Bless America again, lets all stand strong in making our country the shining city on the hill that the world looks to for what to do right.

CATTAILS AND REEDS

Lake Saguaro just east of Phoenix, Arizona is a place where there is so many amazing sights to see. As you arrive at the lake there is a beautiful view of the lake before arriving and the road into the lake is a stunning view.
Traveling around the lake there is so many places to stop and just enjoy nature at its best. This photo was really an accident, looking for a site to take a picture of the sun making its way down for the day and the shadows stretching across the lake, looking for some shade to give myself the best exposure for the reflections of the water, landscape and light of the setting sun. Trying to block out the sunshine with the reeds, as most of my pictures it seemed to me that this is a great picture, so as a photographer will always tell you, look around. Look for different angles, look for things that are not intended in your thoughts of the photo in mind. Many pictures are an after thought of what was intended.

So many times in life we forget to just to stop and enjoy the simple things in life, like looking at nature and the beauty it has in every form. In Arizona, most people think that it is a desert with nothing to see or that there is nothing but cactus or sage brush and rattle snakes, after over two years here in Arizona, finding that this state is loaded with some really extraordinary places to see for next to nothing. Everything from Waterfalls to desert flowers, lakes, rivers to some of the most amazing places in all the world with Grand Canyon to Monument Valley to Havasu Falls, All wonders to see and make memories that will last a lifetime, and views to bring to the rest of the world and hopefully place a smile and spark inspiration to go out and find the beauty that is just minutes away from where you are or inspire you to come and visit the Beautiful State of Arizona!

Fossil Creek Recreation Area is part of the Tonto National Forest.
The drive to this oasis is a long drive with all kinds of obstacles from the miles of highway, to 15 miles of rough dirt road with tons of rocks in the road and miles of winding road of desert until you arrive at the “Oasis in the middle of nowhere” one of my favorite places in all of Arizona as the water is warm year round as the summer ends so do the crowds, This last trip was quite and secluded just a few people to be found. Stopping at different places within the recreation area, this is the first place we stopped at and then we went out to see some new places that we have not been to before, as the sun was going down the photography was going to get a kick in the rear end to a higher level. Enjoy the new photos of Fossil Springs Creek Recreation Area.

After months of being stuck at work or just living life as it has been thrown at me, I was able to get out to one of my favorite spots in Arizona. Fossil Creek Recreation area in the Tonto National Forest is a place that holds a special place in my heart as it is so diverse with the desert you have to drive through to get to the Oasis in the middle of nowhere.
Fossil Creek has the splendor of the water from the natural springs, water that comes to the surface of the ground from deep inside the earth, and bubbles up through the ground and then makes it way to the lakes down stream. The water that is making it way to down stream will give life to trees, plants and wildlife, it will sculpt the land with pools of water and streams and waterfalls that enhance the beauty of our world all around us. My dream is to bring all the beautiful places to the everyday person who is looking for something different to experience in the time they have on this planet we call HOME!

Rylee Marie

I feel that when you catch a child when they are being natural is the absolute best photo that can be taken, here is Rylee Marie. My Granddaughter when she least expected to have her picture taken. As you can see Rylee has natural beauty with her big beautiful eyes and her inquisitive mind. She hold a special place in my heart for she was born on my Birthday, so I call her my little birthday girl.

Summer sunset of the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, where the sun is slowly setting in the west over the Grand Canyon, Tent is set just feet from the edge of the canyon, as the sun goes down and the night take over the skies and the stars are popping up all over the night sky. A light breeze is cooling the night from the hot day, This was the best time camping I have ever had, waking up in the morning before the sun came up as the light is on the horizon and spreads across the sky as the sun is preparing to shine for another day.

Craig and Marisa’s wedding my first time even trying to take pictures of a wedding, with a Nikon coolpix 7600 point and shoot camera, and no knowledge of wedding photos.
But I feel not bad shots and I am going to continue to work on learning more for this format, as wedding are really an art form that is misunderstood and underestimated, wedding photographers are real artist in their crafts. I have met some amazing photographers in this last week and hope that some would give me a chance to watch and learn from some of the best in the business

While waiting for my wife, standing around looking at the beautiful surrounding of Casa De Fruita, I stopped to look at the flowers on the side of the restrooms, in flies a hummingbird to the flowers I am looking at. I have just taken a photo of the flower and then in a blink of an eye, the hummingbird swoops in to the flower and I am ready to take this photo.
It is a warm day and my wife and I are at, what my wife calls her “HAPPY PLACE” this is where we met for the first time four years ago, it is where we had our first kiss, in which I was able to get a photo of our first kiss as I was taking my wife’s picture, I set my camera on a delayed timer and walked over to her and as the timer was counting down to take the picture I leaned over and gave her our first kiss. Casa De Fruita is a special place for the both of us, as it is beautiful place and it is a relaxing atmosphere, We are lucky to have each other and to have met for the first time at such a beautiful place.
Catching this hummingbird at our HAPPY PLACE is just another reason to love this place.

Traveling down a rough dirt road for more then 15 miles in the middle of nowhere with nothing along the road but bushes and small shrubs scattered sparsely across the landscape and when you feel you are wasting your time your gas, there it is so far off the beaten path, there is the oasis that is a welcome sight for weary eyes.
Coming across this oasis was lucky strike and to find that the water is from a natural spring and high in minerals and at a temperature of 72 degrees year round, On a hot summer day it is a nice relief to the heat. The water is crystal clear and is drinkable closer to the springs but I would not advise it very far down stream. This is a great place to go to during the week but is a bit crowded on the weekends.

Fossil Creek is a wonderful place here in Arizona. Here is a place that you would not think of Arizona with water at a temperature of 72 degrees year round. Water that is from a natural spring and is drinkable right out of the ground, this place is a oasis in the middle of an arid desert in the foothills south of Flagstaff, Arizona, traveling a dirt road for miles to arrive at this oasis and hiking to the stream is still another hurdle to over come, but well worth the effort. On a day well over 100 degrees outside and a clear, hot day and cool water to take a dip into, Fossil Creek is amazing place to visit, it is still a quite place to come in the middle of the week, on the weekends it is crowded with people who have come from miles and miles away. Many of the people will just be there to see this oasis, others will come to cool off in the waters that are high in minerals, comfortable in the summer heat.

Rupp family

Portraits of my wonderful daughter Brandi and my Grandkids. Brandi is mother of two children, and serving in the US ARMY my grandson with loads of energy and millions of questions, my granddaughter as pretty as a sunny day, she is called a “Pretty Princess” But what a day of portraits, it was with them, as they are joy to photograph.
Thank you for the opportunity to work with such a wonderful family that I am Proud to call my own!

Fossil Creek Springs

Fossil Creek Springs, Arizona
Traveling to Fossil Creek Springs is not a easy road to travel, off of highway 260 you drive down a rough and rugged road for 15 miles and when you think that there is nothing there, you feel you have driven too far or you have missed it, or as I felt, “There is nothing out here” because there is nothing but desert and more dirt roads branching off of the main dirt road and there is no one on the road, and your all alone, dodging the rocks in the road, wondering if you have been sent on a wild goose chase.
Turning around a hill and there is trees……. green trees and lush greenery all around, a sense of maybe there is something. There is a bridge up ahead, with a few cars parked along the road. Stop, park, and take a walk to the oasis in the middle of no where. The picture is from a hike to Fossil Creek Springs, the hike is 4 miles down a winding dirt path, rocky path with silty dirt that slips under foot, the view to the valley below is spectacular.
The path is long and tough to walk, 2 and 1/2 hours to get to the bottom.
This walk is a tough walk……..but is worth it for this oasis……….millions of gallons of water flowing up out of the ground that pools in spots for great swimming holes, the water is cool but not so cold for swimming, but on a hot summer day it feels so good to get wet and cool off from the heat.
After spending a few hours walking around and the day coming to a end, the walk back up was going to be even tougher and it was. 4 hours on the return trip with cramps so bad in both legs, back hurting from the back pack of camera equipment, finally get back to the car at 10:30 pm.
Asked if I would do it again, the answer is “YES” but I would not recommend it to someone who is not in very good physical condition, as I am not in great shape but I am stubborn enough not to quit.

Redneck RosesRedneck Roses are flowers that you pick along the side of the road, you pick for your sweetheart, when you can’t afford to go out and buy the real Roses. Well today I took my wife out for Redneck Roses, as we drove on the highway, I asked my wife to pull over and park for a minute, I got out and walked around picking all the colors of flower I could find and this is the picture I took of the flowers in my wife’s hand, after……………… I cut off the the top of a water bottle and put the flowers in the water to make them last longer.

Seahorse

Seahorse_edited-1Monterey Aquarium, where you will find some of the most interesting creatures of the sea and ocean, here is a sea horse that looks like it is a plant, but if you look closely you will see the sea horses face and it body, when at the Monterey Aquarium you can see all kinds of exotic and strange animals.

Keihei thru the palms

Keihei thru the Palms logod_edited-1My first night in Maui, I headed to the beach just across the street from my condo in Keihei with camera in hand and the passion of photography and bringing sunsets from all over the world, and being at one of my favorite places in the world, I am walking to the beach, just on the sidewalk along the beach and I am looking to see when the sun will set in the waters to the west. There, through the palms is the sunset, So doing what I feel I do best, I snap off a few pictures and this is one of them.

MAUI FENCE SUNSET1Maui is a beautiful Island and the sunsets are incredible, from anywhere on the island sunsets will leave you in awe.
While visiting Maui on holiday with my beautiful wife, on Valentine’s Day we were finishing up a day at Ka’anapali at Black Rock beach, traveling down the highway to our Condo, I see the sunset, and pull over along the side of the road, there as we pull over is a family of Hawaiians who welcome us to a party they are having and ask us if we would like to join them in a true Hawaiian Friday night. I tell them that I am going to get some photos of the sunset. As I am taking my photos, the eldest Hawaiian walks over and hands me a beer, and says you look like you could use a drink, and tells me that they have the most beautiful sunsets of all the islands, I thank him for the beer, and he says that we are welcome to join them for Kahlua pig dinner. I truly believe that the Hawaiian people are the best in all the world, I love the Hawaiian island for this reason the most. Hawaiians you are a proud people and have all the reasons to be.
Thank you for welcoming into your homes and your land.

Butterfly at Tonto National ParkWhile on a hike to the cliff dwellings of the native Indians at the Tonto National Park at Lake Roosevelt in Arizona, after walking for miles to get to the dwellings, on the last mile up to the site, I was sitting and resting from the long walk and the warm temperatures of the day, drinking some water from my backpack, and looking around for maybe a good location for a photo, with the flowers blooming along the side of the hills that surround the trail, a few butterflies floating in the air, this one landed only a few feet from me, I pulled up my camera and focused on this beautiful creature, I have a spot in my heart for butterflies.

Sedona Valley Panoramic
SEDONA VALLEY is such a beautiful place here in Arizona just a few miles south of Flagstaff or a little over a hundred miles north of Phoenix, Arizona, but no matter which way you arrive from, you’ll be in for some of the most spectacular landscape views, where the Red Rocks of Sedona rise above the valley.
Sedona is surrounded by the red rocks and pine trees and the river that runs through the valley, but in all of world you can travel all of the horizons and never find a place with a variety of scenery as breathe taking as Sedona!

DSC_8704As you look at this photo…. take a real good look at the eyes of this Snow Goose, it is what caught my eyes first, These birds have always fascinated me, and to be able to catch them with a photo is truly amazing.
The color of the feathers and how bright their beaks are and the way they travel across the water, seems to be so smooth with the way they it seems to be so effortless.

Spinning Crystal BallWhile at a “Street Fair in Casa Grande, Arizona walking the streets in search of cars and Motorcycles that were suppose to be there for show on Saturday and Sunday, the cars only on Saturday in which I missed on Saturday but arriving early on Sunday to see Motorcycles but, no motorcycles, so I walked the fair in search of just the beautiful sites of the vendors and the wares they had for sale, from the Cinnamon Apple roasted Almonds to Kettle Corn and Art and Photography to a vendor of these crystal balls with wire wrapped around them and blowing in the wind or being turned by the vendor, they seemed to deceive the eyes as you watch the wire spin around the crystal balls.
With music of a pan flute in the background and the smells of the foods and incense

DSCN1425 (3)DSCN1436 (2)This is my daughter Julies wedding, I would of loved to have taken more pictures of the wedding, but she wanted me to marry her, so I performed the ceremony, as I am Ordained Minister, so I performed the wedding vows and married my daughter!

Honu up close

Maui Turtle close upGreen Sea Turtle is extraordinary creature of the sea, One of it favorite meals is jellyfish and sea grass.
“Honu” as it is called by the Hawaiians, It is a protected animal in Hawaii, These turtles travel thousands of mile each year, they are amazing to watch as they paddle their fins, they will sink to the bottom or drift in the current in search of food or ascend to the surface to grab a breath of air.

I got my eye on you!Have you ever felt you had someone watching everything you are doing, Well this is the eye that watches me.

Yosemite Bridge BWBridal Vail falls stream of water that leads away from the falls runs down the hill to this bridge, and beyond this bridge is the Yosemite Valley. John Muir spent many years in this valley studying it’s features and developing his idea of the Sierra Club. Yosemite became one of the first National Parks in the country, Yellowstone was the first of the National Parks, National Parks are truly the gems of our country, and I would urge everyone to visit as many National Parks as you can in your life time and see the beauty that has been preserved for our enjoyment by many great men and women of our past!

LOWER FALLS

Lower Falls BW
Yellowstone National Park has many falls within the park boundaries and the most spectacular of all the falls is the Lower Falls the view points for this waterfall is quiet a distance from the falls itself, the view through the valley to the falls is breathe taking. As you can see in this photo of the falls.

WAIKIKI BEACH2 (2)_edited-1 Overlooking this photo for years, and when I was going through some of pictures and realized that I had taken this picture when I was traveling in my daughters car as we were coming back from Hunama Bay and being that I was not driving to be able to stop and get a picture from a set point, I rolled down the window and fired away in hopes of getting a good picture, with just a crop of the picture I have this photo of Waikiki beach at 35 miles per hour.

Kilauai Lighthouse_edited-1Kauai, Hawaii on the Northeast shore just south of Princeville, there sits a lighthouse on the point and this lighthouse stands tall. The new technology of electronics for the lighting needs of the lighthouse, this national park monument, sets itself off the beaten path of places to visit when in Hawaii, but is well worth the time, to find to see, with a view from the rocks of the point, where spinner dolphins are dancing in the ocean just off the point, and the birds that cover the shore and the seals lounging on the rocks below.
The Park Rangers can give you a plethora of information to entertain you of what the lighthouse system is all about and how they help seamen when sailing at night, when there is no moon to light their way, the lighthouse help to keep them from crashing into the shore.

View over Bryce CanyonBryce Canyon in Utah, A wonderful place to travel to, where spires stand tall in the valley below the rim, with trees that line the horizon and along the edges, framing the canyon with splatter of trees around the spires in the canyon, this magnificent canyon just jumps out of nowhere. Bryce Canyon part of the Grand Circle, where so many places to see are within just miles of each other, from the Grand Canyon to Zion, Arches to Monument Valley and Lake Powell these are spectacular monuments of nature and beauty here in the Western United States.

Peiffer Beach (BIG SUR) CaliforniaBig Sur, California is where millions of people come to each year to see this amazing landscape along the Pacific coast, with the Giant Redwoods shattering the hillsides, the magical place is where artist from all over the world come to paint masterpieces, Along with Photographers, like myself take photos of the beauty by the sea!
So enjoy a moment of Big Sur as the sun sets in the distant waters.

Montana Sunset

Montana sunsetMontana is such a beautiful state, With all the mountains that surround the valley of Great Falls, Montana, where this photograph was taken.
Where the clouds stream across the sky at all times of the day, with the mountains set in the distant.
Light will brighten your life with the warmth of the sun in mid-May, the clouds dancing across the sky, and wisp of wind in the air, snow capped mountains in the distance, and the streams of light beams stretching from the clouds that fill the sky!

I LOVE YOU KIMPost this one for my wife, who I know I do not deserve, but she loves me anyways, Which will always amaze me. On this night, when she got back from a trip to see her kids, I had missed her so much over the ten days she was gone, So on this night I served her a candlelight dinner, and then after took the picture to remember the beautiful setting.

Bordello of Goldfield Ghost TownGoldfield Ghost Town has an old time Bordello. At the Bordello, they will give you a tour of how and why these houses existed for the miners and for the women to make money to survive the rough life of the new west and the hunt for riches in gold silver and copper. They were the outcast of society, they would be sought for their donations to the church and town, even though they would not be allowed to attend church or town functions. They would work this lifestyle, because of not having a man to protect them from the outside world.

Trails of YellowstoneMay 2009 Yellowstone National Park. On a walkway around the geysers in the lower geyser basin, setting on the side of a hill, comes this photo for your enjoyment.

Conch Shell

Conch ShellThe Conch Shell, wonder of the sea, as protection for sea animals, while in the water, and then when it is brought to the surface, The Hawaiians have used it to call the village for meals or a call for action, As a child would hold the shell up to their ears, they can hear the ocean in the shell.
This shell was gift from my daughter, sitting on our table in the early morning light, just calling to have it’s picture to be taken, sometimes we seem to forget the beauty of gifts, or the beauty of the world around us. So take some time to look around, to the world, around us and see the wonders that have been put right in front of us to enjoy!

Glow

A Night of Glow in YumaFirst time to see, what Balloonist call “GLOW”, this event is the highlight of every Balloon festival.
This being my first time to see, I must say, just one word “WOW” This is such an amazing sight to see, being mesmerized by just the sight of all these balloons in one place, these balloonist will talk and explain all about their crafts, they will tell you about the thrill of flight, they will invite you to come for a trip with them to the clouds, and drift on the winds. My first time to see these massive creations of ingenuity, can take to the skies, to float with the wind. The wicker basket, ropes and cables tied to a nylon balloon with ropes to the top for the release of the hot air, the propane and hoses that go up to the burner and create the flames for the heat to be able to be trapped inside the balloon, in which gives the lift to the skies above.
This is a truly a wonderful sight to see.
When they have brought these balloons to the night, with the music, the crowd of excited people, to the children, who have made their own balloons, the night skies darken and they light the night with the flames of the burners inside the balloons. The colors of the balloons glowing in the night, will leave you in AWE!

Hot Air Balloons GlowOn Saturday November 21, 2009 in the city of Yuma, Arizona a night of the Hot Air Balloons filling the sky with these colorful crafts, the flames to light up the inside of the balloons, that creates the glow of this picture.
First time to see a GLOW event, and as you can see, a spectacular sight of these large aircraft’s, all around the outfield of the city ballpark.
21 Hot Air Balloons were at this event, a total 35 balloons were able to lift off in the mornings, but at the GLOW event they were only able to fit 21 balloons on the field.

DSC_3843_edited-1Saturday morning, before the sun comes up, people gathering in the park, the playground is lit up and the kids are running and screaming to each other, to run over there or come over here. Laughing and running and having a good time, while waiting for the balloons to be set up and as the sun light is brightening the distant sky, the sun is seen on the horizon, they start to fill the balloons.
A cheer goes up, the winner of the free ride is given, and the crowd is listening to the music of the local Rock station is playing as people are coming in, even as the hot air balloons are starting to fill up.
Mike and Daniel are two balloonist getting their balloons ready for the launch and checking every little detail, as safety comes first when your a Balloonist.
Daniels balloon is here for your pleasure to view!

Sunday BalloonsCactus Balloon
These are a few of the balloons that are going to the sky on this Sunday.
One balloon is made to take as many as 12 people on a flight, the others can hold up to 4 people. The balloons come in different sizes in which makes for the size of the basket that it can take to flight.
Amazed at the people who have such a passion for flight and their knowledge of how to dance on the winds of the sky and guide these giant balloons to a place that they can bring this large craft to a safe place to land and how the can put the balloon on the ground with such a gentle touch. Some of the pilots have a saying, “Have you ever tried to Park an 8 story building!” These Pilots are truly great at what they do!

Balloon Landing
On Sunday I was invited to come watch the launch of Hot Air Balloons, by a bunch of friendly people who have a passion to fly on the wind. They are excited to set up their equipment and with the detail of safety first, they prepare their crafts to raise themselves to the sky. As they set up, as they pull the balloon from the trailers, and set up the tarps, pulling the basket out, hooking up the the balloon to the basket, setting up the burner to the basket, and then filling the balloon with air from a fan, they open the bottom of the balloon and then hit the gas to the burner, and slowly the balloon fills with hot air and starts to rise to the sky.
With it filled with hot air, the passengers start to get into the basket, today the passenger is a youngster of about 7 years old, going for his first flight, with the excitement of a child, the wide eyed youngster hops in.
The Pilot opens the burners and the balloon slowly raises from the ground, and in a moment the balloon is going up, up and away on the light breeze that is moving it south with the wind.
Today there is six Balloons that are taking to the blue skies, as they are gaining height from the ground, the crew is working on getting the set up put back into the trailer, and watching the balloon and the direction it is heading, because they are going to have to chase the flight for when it lands, and gather the equipment for another flight on another day.

Tower Rock Bryce NPWhen visiting Bryce Canyon National Park your going to see many spires that have rocks just balancing on what seems to be just pebble in between the rock and the spire. Over the years of erosion and wear and tear of the wind, rain and snow, this canyon has survived to display the colors and the rocks in formations that will leave a person in awe of the wonders of this wonderful world we live in. So many beautiful places will never be seen by so many people, from not knowing that a place like this exists or even the inability to travel to a place so far away, but for all who did not know of this wonder of the world, enjoy the photos and I hope that someday you to will be able to travel and see Bryce Canyon National Park

Bryce Canyon National ParkBryce Canyon National Park, located in southern Utah, and is part of the Grand Circle, the Grand Circle is a where a abundance of natural wonders are located just within a few hundred miles you can see the Grand Canyon to Arches National Park to Zion National Park to here Bryce National Park. I traveled here with my brothers when I was younger and remember, when we first arrived at Bryce, we all seem to be in amazement of the colors of the rocks and then when we reached the canyon, we all stood in amazement and said……………..”How did they do that.”
We looked at the canyon and said we got to go down into the canyon, so we found a path to the bottom, and we hiked all day, weaving in and out of the spires that would surround us throughout the day.
Well years later, I have gotten the chance to visit the canyon again, there with my Wife, and when we arrived at the canyon she stood on the edge of the canyon, with wide eyes and deep breathes, and excitement of a child who was let loose in a candy store, she turned to me and said “How did they do that”……………I am planning another trip to Bryce and when I do I will be taking my wife down into the canyon to let her see the canyon from the inside and let her be amazed as I was amazed when I first saw this Beautiful Wonder of the World.

GRAND CANYONThe Grand Canyon, visited by millions of people from all over the world every year, but few really see the beauty and the majestic of the canyon from all sides. This marvel of the world, took millions of years to become the wonder that it is! Spending time at the Grand and I really mean “GRAND CANYON” you will venture from the desert to the hills if you’re coming in from the north and you will venture from the desert to the hills to the forest, to the canyon, from the south, but what ever way you come to The Grand Canyon you see beauty beyond belief, in this small corner of the world lies some of the most beautiful places on this wonderful world we call home.
If you have the chance to visit The Grand Canyon you will need to have at least 7 days to see this wonder of the world, but if you are just passing through, the South Rim is a good place to start. If you have a few days, start on the South Rim and then drive the 100+ miles to get to the North Rim, where you will see The Grand Canyon from a whole new perspective, and a different side, taking the trek to the river, either by foot, donkey, guided tour, or even helicopter ride, is a trip that is well worth the time, effort or even the cost of seeing the canyon from the bottom up so to speak.

Lake Watson Panoramic_edited-1Lake Watson is one of the most beautiful lakes I have ever seen. This panoramic photo is a great view of the rocks, peaks and the water. The rocks seem to be growing out of the water with the shadows as the sun is slowly setting in the west. As the light touches the peaks and the shadows stretching into the water, you will see the water shimmering with the last light of the day.

Lake Watson SunsetThis sunset is brought to you by GOD, and my camera was lucky enough to be there at the right time. This comes to you from Lake Watson just north of Prescott, Arizona.
It is beautiful and it was a lot of trouble to climb up the rocks to get to this picture and climbing back down in the dark with the coyotes howling just a few yards away from my wife and I, we both picked up large branches from the ground to protect ourselves with, to no avail they never came close to us.

Lake Watson!! What a beautiful Lake, just breathtaking with landscapes of beauty. I could spend days at this lake just climbing on the rocks, looking for that once in a lifetime photo. I believe that I could take some amazing shots here and wish that I lived closer to this lake than I do. When we arrived at the lake, Kim and I walked down to the water, to find to our amazement that the lake is contaminated and there is no swimming and all the boats that enter the lake have a no wake for the entire lake. We wish we could have gone for a swim, but not at this time, hopefully next time we go, it will be all cleaned up and we could even go for a dive here.Lake Watson, Prescott,AZ

Lake Watson, Prescott,AZ_edited-1Lake Watson is just north of Prescott, Arizona with an extraordinary view of this lake and the beautiful rocks that seem to just grow out of the water, My wife and I took a last minute trip to Lake Watson to visit this amazing landscape of Arizona.
I climbed up on the rocks, working my way to the top to find a beautiful sunset and a view of the lake that was breathtaking, on my way down from the top of the rocks in the dark, finding every place that I could to fall on my backside, with coyotes howling, I reminisce of how wonderful my life has become with a wonderful wife and the ability to go to far away places to take more pictures.

WHEN COLOR MEETS BEAUTY

WHEN COLOR MEETS BEAUTY

When you come to the Wild Animal Park in Arizona, You will visit with beautiful animals and birds and fish of all kinds, that will leave you in Awe of Nature. This type of Macaw, is colorful and intense with the way they will call out in song, that is haunting and eerie in sound, but musical when listen too. These are the most beautiful bird I have ever seen in person and I would like to share them with all to see.

FLAMINGOS

Flamingo'sFlamingos are amazing Birds, as they are active in the morning and then stand on one leg throughout the day and then as the evening and cooler hours of the day come upon them, they seem to come alive with movement and friskiness with each other, as they sing with sounds that would come hard to describe in words, but they are such a beautiful bird whether watching them stand on one leg, or as you watch them interacting with each other or just looking for food to satisfy their hunger.
These pictures were taken at the Wild Animal park in Phoenix, Arizona, I hope you enjoy looking at the flamingos as much as I enjoy taking their picture.

Giraffe at the Zoo

Giraff at the ZooWhile at the Wild Animal Park in Phoenix, Arizona my wife and I were at the stand for the Giraffes and finding out that you can buy food and feed them, and all of sudden, this long black tongue comes out of the the giraffes mouth and scoops up the food, it is amazing to watch and even more amazing to actually have the giraffe eat out of your own hands. So as I watched the children feed the giraffes, I took a few pictures, here for your enjoyment!

Sunsets at Lake Pleasant_edited-2
There is a place just North of Phoenix, Arizona as you head north on 83rd Street out of Phoenix to the end of the road that has changed names, from Peoria Ave to 83rd to Lake Pleasant Parkway, where it ends at Carefree Highway, and going left on Carefree Highway to Hot Springs road and turning right to the entrance to the Park and one of the beautiful Lakes of Arizona and one with the best visibility for SCUBA diving in the whole state, but the most exciting part of the Lake is the Sunsets at the end of the day, and the fun of being in the sun and diving.
Lake Pleasant is a place to escape the grind of a busy week of work and to unwind for the week ahead. Many people of Arizona will enjoy this lake on weekends, but the best time to visit this gem of the desert is mid week. when the crowds are down and time to enjoy the peace and quite of Lake Pleasant.

America’s Birthday

fireworks-july-2009_edited-1The 4th of July is a tradition that has been going on now for 233 years, change that no one would want change, in this great country we have the freedom to do the things we love to do, But the night of the 4th of July we all go out and watch the fireworks displays or shoot off our own display of fireworks to celebrate this birthday of our great country.
On the hot or warm July night we watch the sky for colors and lights of firework, and this night some of the beauty was caught in photos and here is the one I caught. Hope you will enjoy it and keep the freedom our fore fathers had set forth for us to enjoy, remember that when you really love this country you will learn about how these great men who set forth the Constitution and the Bill of Rights for the future generations, they really knew what was right for all the people and how it would effect the Greatness of the public in future generations. These Men knew if you only have one branch of Government that you would have trouble, so they created the Executive Branch (President) The Legislative Branch (Congress and Senate) and The Judicial branch (Supreme Court) and that it would take all the branch to pass any and all the Laws that the country would abide by.

chase-nw-cornerI have always loved the site of a beautiful building in the middle of a thriving City center, this a photo of the Chase Bank Building in Phoenix, Arizona. This building is the tallest building in Phoenix and it stands over forty stories tall. My interest is in the mirrored glass in the buildings architecture.
This building can be seen from miles away from the city center. As you see in this picture the building seems to go up forever.

winsor-goslingsThese Windsor Goslings were at Paris Gibson Park in Great Falls, Montana. I was there on a vacation to see my grandchildren and feed the geese bread and to see the beautiful places that Montana has to offer. These goslings were just born days before these pictures were taken and they learn to feed, swim and jump from the walls into the water within just days of being born, it is amazing to watch how fast they grow, soon they will be flying south for the winter. As you can see in this picture, how cute they are when they are so little, as everything in this world, the young are what makes this world so interesting to watch and see how life will continue from year to year.

My wife and I went camping just before the 4th of July this year, as we were sitting on the shore of Lake Pleasant, just north of Phoenix, Arizona.
Early in the morning as we are watching these birds foraging for food in the shallow waters of the lake, I do not know what kind of bird this is. If anyone knows please let me know.
Thanks to Delphia I now know the name of this bird.
I have had a extraordinary life since I met my wife. She will go camping with me and snorkeling with me and she puts up with all my guff.

path-through-bamboo-forest
When walking your path of life, you will find that there are days of smooth paths, where everything is easy and is not a struggle to get from the beginning to the end.
Then there are the days that seem to go wrong from the moment you wake in the morning to the time you finally lay your head down on the pillow from the long day you have just endured.
But don’t ever get dishearten, by the struggles you will come across in your life, just know that the hard days are there for you to reference, to be able to judge the good days ahead with!
If you never have to struggle or travel the rough roads, then you really are not living an exciting life at all.
Remember, some of the most beautiful place you will ever see, will be at the end of a rough and jagged path.

Moon and Rainbow

moon-and-rainbowLake Pleasant on July 3 ,2009 while I was getting burnt to a crisp in the Hot summer days of Arizona, where the temperatures at night at 95+ and soaring to 115 degrees in the afternoon hours, and thunderstorms building all day long and winds that will move your campsite in just a minute, from on side of the lake to the other.
With water temps of 78 degrees on the surface and dropping to a chilly 63 degrees below 36 feet below the surface, and visibility of as much as 35 feet, I had been enjoying a day of diving in a warm lake and camping with my wife enjoy being out together.
The rain had just stopped about a half hour before, we were talking to some of the neighboring campers, when………there it was in the sky to the south, the moon and a rainbow that had formed between the clouds, and me rushing to grab my camera. As I am taking this photo, I hear the thunderstorm behind me and knowing the rain is coming again.

jellifish-at-monterey-aquriumMonterey Bay Aquarium, with the wonders of the ocean and seas, to see these creatures in a venue, up so close you feel you could just reach out and touch them. The Jellyfish have always held a certain curiosity in my life to see this creature in the aquarium was nice to see them, within inches of the glass is so much nicer then seeing them in the ocean, where they can sting, which in no way is any fun. The rash that accompanies the sting, I have had in the past, but they are so amazing when they are behind the glass. The Jellyfish are so amazing, because they have on brain and they seem to be able to survive, just swimming aimlessly around the ocean and still able to get all the food it needs to survive in the wild. And with the jellyfish is also one of the “HONU” (Green Sea Turtle) favorite meals.

BUTTERFLY AT WAIMEA FALLS

BUTTERFLY AT WAIMEA FALLS

The world is full of beautiful places and with everyday that goes by, we see sunsets, flowers that past by with everyday that goes by, we have one less day to enjoy this glorious world that has been placed all around us for our enjoyment. So as you go about your busy day, take a moment and look around, weather it is by the side of a road you travel everyday or if you have a chance to go to the beach, or a walk in the mountains, or even if your walking in a busy city, stop and look around. Look up and down, look  all around at everyone rushing by, to do what they may have to do, in their busy days and take a moment and wonder why we are all so busy that we don’t take a minute and enjoy all of the beauty around us.

I used to travel all around the country, driving an 18 wheeler, hurrying to get from point to point, always in a hurry, I would stop each day and take time to see the beauty of this “GREAT COUNTRY” The United States of America is a beautiful country and many people around the world come to visit this country and see the beautiful place that most Americans don’t even stop and see, when it is just around the corner or even just a few miles away.

Remember, that our fore fathers spent time ensuring that we will have all the National Parks to enjoy for future generations, by setting aside the land that they found to be so fabulous. It did not stop there, we have in each state “STATE PARKS” in which your state representatives have set aside for you, right in your state and for the world to come and see. I am going to spend the rest of my life, working to bring the world photos of all the amazing places that I am so blessed to be able to go and see, first hand.

So, go now and visit my first movie of the photos I have taken and enjoy the music by my favorite singer, who’s life was too short, I believe he would of been able to give so much to the world had he been given a longer life, but in the years he was with us he gave us so much in his song, and voice that is so soothing to listen too!

Israel “IZ” Kamakawiwo’ole may you rest in peace!

Thank you for all the beautiful music

FLORIDA SUNSET

Bradenton Beach in Florida, is on the gulf coast of Florida, just a few mile south of Tampa Bay, the sun and sand the water and a great day of being at the beach as the sun starts to settle in for the day and set in the water, I was walking along the side of the road and looking at how beautiful the sun looked as it was setting. With the wind blowing the long strands of saw grass, I shot this photo.

yosemite-stream-1From Yellowstone to Yosemite in just a few weeks, On trips to see my wife’s children we were able to stop and see some fantastic places from Montana/Wyoming to Sierra Mountains of California, visiting more of the National Parks that are spread out across this great country!! In Yosemite National Park is a number of waterfalls that are located very close together and are all beautiful in their own respects, and as the water flows away from the falls, are spectacular rivers of water and trees that will just amaze you with their beauty. This picture is of the river just below Bridal Vail falls.

If you have the chance to visit a park, you will come away with a new look on life and about this wonderful country we are all blessed to live in. While visiting Yellowstone in May my wife and I were able to see some of the most beautiful Park we seen hot springs, Geysers and wild Bison just roaming the countryside and stopping traffic on the roads along with mountain goats, and mule deer all along the roadside, all within the park where they are protected.

CACTUS FLOWERSArizona is covered with cactus and this variety of cactus blooms with colorful flowers just once a year in the spring and with the blooms comes an array of animals to feed on the blooms. The native Indians of Arizona would harvest the blooms and save them to use in the foods they cooked, this was a delicacy of the spring time. These flowers will bloom with colors of Red, White, Yellow, Orange, Pink and Purple and when the desert is in full bloom the colors are absolutely beautiful.

Here on a vacation with my wife, after a day of snorkeling with her and tired from being in the water, swimming and diving, searching for “HONU’s” Hawaii’s green sea turtle, and watching all the colorful fish swimming along the shore, I sat down to enjoy another of Hawaii’s finest sunsets!
I Love the Hawaiian Islands, not only for the beautiful beaches, and Sunsets but for the people of Hawaii, who always make me feel welcome to be there in their homes, and to be part of the islands that they treasure so much. So when you go to Hawaii, please take care of all your litter, if you bring it in, take it out, all the beaches have trash containers along the roadway or in the parking lots.
Let’s all take a little pride in this JEWEL of the Pacific, That is our 50th STATE!

On my trip to San Francisco in September 2008, I came to the fishermen wharf for dinner with my wife, we sat and enjoyed the scenery of the city by the bay.
As we left the restaurant, we drove down this street, where off on the left side you could see the Bay Bridge to Oakland and to the right you can see the city of San Francisco.
We stopped and I ventured down a pier, to the water of the bay, here I turned and looked back at the City lights, where I set up to find this picture, In hopes, that you will enjoy, some of the sights I have been blessed to see!

BIRD OF PARADISE

BIRD OF PARADISE

This Bird of Paradise was just outside the Hospital where my Grandson was just born, As my wife and I were leaving the hospital, to get something to eat, were walking along the side of the building, next to the sidewalk was planter filled with flowers and plants.
I stopped to take a picture of the Bird of Paradise flowers as my wife kept on walking, not knowing that I had stopped to take a picture, As she walked on, I hurried to take the picture and catch back up with her.
When I caught back up with her, I showed her the picture, and she said, “when did you take this picture?”, I said, “Just now”. She replied, “Where was I when you took this picture?”
I had stopped to take the picture and she had walked ahead of me.
With that she said, “See,…. you can stop and take a picture without me even knowing you had stopped………….No matter where you are, or what your doing you will stop and take a picture.

We come to a parking area on the side of the road, stop and watch the rock climbers working their way up the rocks, we heard the sounds of water flowing over the rocks and we walk up the road to see this waterfall

Me taking pictures of just about everything I am seeing, and the faces that Aiden is making all day long, I stop to take a picture of a flower, as I am working on the right distance for the shot, A butterfly floats across my right shoulder, down to the flower in my shot, amazed I stop to catch what is going on in disbelief, when the butterfly opens his wings as to say, “take my picture, quick”, I snap the shot and he flies away!

If you ever have the chance to go to Hawaii in February, get your swimsuit, and towel, some sun tan lotion, if you have snorkel gear, if you don’t rent some for less than $15 a day, go to a beach where you see people watching the Whales, go out into the water, take a big deep breath, and dunk your head under the water and listen………………..you will hear what at first, sounds of squealing, and then you will start to hear the patterns of song the whale sings from miles away.

Where I grew up, and where I remember as kid, I would ride my bike for 30 miles in the mornings, a three and half hour ride to get to Huntington beach, where we would surf in the morning and ride skateboard, when the waves would die in the afternoon, and chase girls all day long.
Eat at Wolfees Burger for lunch, have bonfires in the evenings and then ride back home, just to do again the next day.
This picture reminded me of shooting the pier, and a childhood filled with wide eyed kids with all the hopes and dreams one could hope for, and me living the life, some would of dreamed of having.

This a place, where I had seen from a flight back from San Francisco, I saw it out the window, and said I have to try and find this building in the background, I just loved the architecture of this building, little did I know, that when I started to look for this building I would find, this bridge, called “Mill Street Bridge” I saw the bridge and thought of a sunset with the bridge in it. I got some pictures of the sunset and I was walking back to my car, I looked out at the rowing boats of the Arizona State University as they were finishing their day of training, Once again I find a great picture in something I was not even looking for! Mill St. Bridge with the reflections of the lights in the water.

Tempe town Lake Reflections
When you look at the Mill Street Bridge picture you will see these buildings in the background, The building with KPMG in the picture is the building I saw from a flight back from San Francisco, that I wanted to take pictures of, little did I know that I would find, so many pictures to enjoy, in just one spot.

While driving around Sedona, Arizona. My wife on a weekend trip, we had seen so many beautiful sites all day long, I was looking for a high spot to get a picture of the Sunset, driving through the hills, and actually getting more lost, then getting any higher in the hills. I had turned on a road that was a dead end road, running out of time before the sun would be going down for the day, Thinking to myself I am going to miss a great Sunset, I turn the car around, and there as the car is just getting around the cul-de-sac, I start to head out, when, there in front of me is a picture of the Moonrise, that just stopped me literally in my tracks, stopping in the middle of the road, grab my camera and set up the tripod and start snapping off pictures as the people who live there are passing by, This is another picture I hope you will enjoy

    Sailboats Sunset Ka'anapali

    Sailboats Sunset Ka'anapali

On a warm February day in 2008 on a beach, Ka’anapali, Maui, Hawaii, the sun is settling in to another end of a great day in the Hawaiian Islands, The boats dancing on the waves of the ocean, people swimming along the shoreline, others snorkeling along the rocks that jut out from the shore, where lava had flowed centuries ago, a gentle warm breeze flows over your body, as you lay in the sun warmed sand on the beach, as the day comes to a end, you see a couple of sail boats bounding back and forth with the waves beneath their bows. You can catch a photo of a lifetime!

On the night that I took the picture from the front page of my website, I took this picture of the Moon rising, when you go out to take pictures, or you are just getting pictures that are placed in front of you, when you least expect it, when all of your attentions are on the one in front of you, sometimes you need to just take a breath and look around, I have found some of my most beautiful pictures, were pictures that I did not see at first, but they became the focus point when I just stopped and looked around, so many times in life you get so focused on one thing and so many opportunities will pass by with you thinking later, I did not see that. This was a night that when the moon crested over the horizon, it seemed to be bigger than normal, we all have seen these nights, and watch as the moon gets smaller and smaller as it rises in the sky.

When I got my picture of the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, I also got this Panoramic view of the city and the river and the riverboat Casino’s and the park below the Arch, and the city skyline in the background.
For so many years I had passed by this Arch and wished I could stop and see it up close, I was always in a hurry to get to where I needed to be the next day, I would drive by saying one day, I am going to stop! Well this day, I said, I am not going by without stopping, At first I tried to stop on the overpasses over the Mississippi river.
I got my camera out got it set up for the picture and just about ready to take the shot and I am surrounded with three Police cars, Two officers with the gun drawn, I hold up my hands and say “I am a Photographer” just want to take pictures of the Arch, They inform me I am not allowed to stop, walk, talk, or take pictures from any overpass over the river. I ask if I can take the picture and be on my way, They all in unison say “NO”, but one officer says he will show me where I can go to get some pictures, And this is the results of his guidance to the location where I got these pictures

GATEWAY ARCH, ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI. The Interstates that meet together in a tangle of ribbons of highway, that all come together at the Mississippi River, hundred of thousands of people passing by, with each day that passes by.
Many who see this wonder everyday and others who are seeing this amazing monument to the West, Gateway Arch is the just that a gateway to the West.
This Arch is over a beautiful Park with the St. Louis skyline in the background and the night skies with wisp of clouds in the air and the reflections of the lights in the water, comes a picture, that to this day, is my background picture on my computer.

San Francisco, California. Where the Golden Gate Bridge spans the opening of the Bay to The Pacific Ocean, this bridge is world famous and there is so many reasons why, but being one of “The Most Photographed Bridge” in the world, this bridge, brings in and take out thousands of people each and everyday to the City on the Bay! This picture was taken on my last trip to San Francisco.
The bridge and the lights of the bridge at sunset seemed to bring the very essence of light, time and opportunity, all together, in one moment of time, just for my photo.

Traveling in Arkansas, On Interstate 40, just a few miles away from Russellville, There lies a Lake, with hills filled with trees of all kinds, fishermen out on the lake, cars flying by, not even noticing the beauty of the lake, I was traveling east bound and could see the lake in my mirrors of my truck, I stopped along the highway, fought my way through the thicket of brier and tall grass to see this sunset
